Bring the world's foremost playwright into your school this October 2007! Seacoast Repertory Theatre presents Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy As You Like It on tour. This accessible comedy of culture-clash and hidden identity promises to entertain and engage students by giving them the chance to experience Shakespeare's works as he intended - live in performance! This tour includes a comprehensive study - guide along with a post - show discussion with the Rep's professional team of artists. Let the Rep help your class meet curriculum standards in Arts, English Language Arts and Social Studies by bringing As You Like It into your school.

Shakespeare's greatest comic heroine, Rosalind, presides over his radiant comedy As You Like It. As a result of the discord between a Duke and his brother, their daughters Rosalind and Celia escape from the city in the company of the loyal clown, Touchstone, to join a growing band of refugees in the Forest of Arden. Shakespeare's forest becomes the scene of comic culture-clash as urbanites cope with exile in the country, and native shepherds encounter invaders from the city. Nature becomes a place where civilization itself goes on trial and love effects wondrous transformations: families are reunited, villains converted to virtue, lovers joined, and rightful claims restored.
