"The theater recently leased a 1,200-square-foot space at 1 Raynes Ave. in Portsmouth’s North End and an open house is scheduled for Friday, May 1. The space, a former dance studio, will act as the Rep’s annex, an additional site for rehearsals, classes, and other programs. It’s the next step in the Rep’s reinvention, which began last fall when the nonprofit theater nearly closed due to financial difficulties."

We've opened our first show of 2015! The Pulitzer and Tony Award-Winning Guys & Dolls with music by Frank Loesser blasted it's way onto our stage to excited crowds and standing ovations.
Nathan Detroit is a gambler trying to get a game of craps going, but he's got a few problems: the heat is on, he's out of cash, he's neglected his girlfriend, and the only place that will host his game needs $1000 cash up front.
Hilarity ensues when he tries to win the money off of Sky Masterson, who will gamble on anything, including the heart of the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown. The bet takes the show from New York to Havana and back again as dice and punches are thrown and guys and dolls fall in love.
Come join us for this iconic American musical from Broadway's Golden Age. Director Taryn Herman has assembled a cast of some of the most talented performers from around the Seacoast and beyond to bring the dazzling spectacle and gigantic sounds of this show to life. Tickets are available to all performances.
Hannaford Supermarkets awarded Seacoast Repertory Theatre a $25,000 contribution to fund the Portsmouth Academy of Performing Arts, or PAPA, through 2015.
The PAPA program trains hundreds of children in the performing arts. The grant will cover expenses for teachers, costumes, props, and other production costs associated with the program.
"Hannaford Supermarkets actively supports youth and families in the communities we serve," said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman. "We are proud to advance the Seacoast Repertory Theatre's vision, helping build the confidence and skills of young people in the Seacoast Region through participation in the PAPA program and in the performing arts."
The PAPA program holds classes, workshops, day and overnight camps for kids age 6 to 18, training them in acting, singing, movement and stagecraft to help them develop confidence, independence, and work ethic.
“You can see the way this program changes kids for the better,” said Miles Burns, interim artistic director at The Rep and head of PAPA. “Hannaford’s grant to the PAPA program will ensure we can really give this program what it needs to succeed and expand.”
PAPA classes begin Saturday, Jan. 10th and run year-round. For more information, visit www.seacoastrep.org/youth-program.
