Youth Classes

Youth Classes 2017

We have an array of exciting youth theatre and dance classes this year!

We offer 7 sessions of classes throughout the year, private voice lessons and coachings, as well as individual Workshops and Masterclasses. Our six-week-long classes repeat throughout the year, so if you can’t make a certain session, you will be able to sign up for the next one!  Check back throughout the year for exciting updates.  Please email Seraphina@seacoastrep.org for more info on any of our classes.

DROP-IN Classes

Can’t commit to a whole session?  Drop-in!  Drop-in students are welcome in every class with advance notice.  Please email seraphina@seacoastrep.org if you plan to attend a single class.  (Drop-in Fee: $25)

Babes on Stage (Ages 4-6) with Miles Burns

February 18 – March 25
Seacoast Rep | Saturdays, 8:30am – 9:15am | Ages 4-6 | $120
Babes on Stage is for our youngest aspiring performers! Young performers will explore acting, movement, singing, creative drama, and self expression while having fun and making friends in a supportive environment.

The Acting Bug (Ages 7-9) with Rachel Pantazis

February 18 – March 25
Rep North | Saturdays, 9:30am – 10:30am | Ages 7-9 | $140
Acting Bug students work to develop a sense of self, a working knowledge of theatre and theatre terminology, and essential acting skills. Young performers will learn about scenes, choreography, and to work as a team in an ensemble… all important elements that make a production happen!

The Acting Bug (Ages 10-12) with Rachel Pantazis

February 18 – March 25
Rep North | Saturdays, 10:30am – 11:30am | Ages 10-12 | $140
Acting Bug students work to develop a sense of self, a working knowledge of theatre and theatre terminology, and essential acting skills. Young performers will learn about monologues, scenes, and to work as a team in an ensemble… all elements of what it takes to put on a production!

Crafting for the Stage with Amanda Dane

February 26 – April 2
Rep North | Sundays, 10:00am – 11:30am | Ages 7-13 | $140
In this class, students will learn how to channel their artistic skills to create props and set pieces for the stage.  Each week will consist of a new project designed for a specific show.  Some of the finished pieces will even be showcased on stage in our Youth Workshop Productions!

Students should bring snacks and water to class.

PAPA Improv (Ages 11-14) with Kevin Mahaney

February 20 – March 27
Rep North | Mondays, 4:30pm – 5:30pm | Ages 11-14 | $120
Explore the basics of improvisation with emphasis on listening, instinct, and storytelling, while building and working as an ensemble. Students learn through props, music, and games. A fun time for young improvisers of all levels!

Theatre Together- for Homeschoolers! with Linette Miles

February 21 – March 28
Rep North | Tuesdays, 10:30am – 11:30am | Ages 7-15 | $95
Students will explore acting, musical theatre, and movement in this performance driven class.  Together with the instructor, they will work to create a (themed) original piece using songs they know and love, with scenes or dramatic poetry, and movement!

Beginner/Intermediate Theatre Dance (Ages 9-12) with Nellie Teeling

February 22 – March 29
Rep North | Wednesdays, 3:20pm – 4:15pm | Ages 9-12 | $120
Theatre Dance for ages 9-12 will concentrate on movement for the stage, incorporating jazz, modern, hip hop styles and more.  No prior dance experience necessary.

Students should proper dance attire or active wear.  Please bring a water bottle.

Beginner/Intermediate Theatre Dance for Teens with Nellie Teeling

February 22 – March 29
Rep North | Wednesdays, 4:15pm – 5:15pm | Ages 13-18| $120
Theatre Dance for Teens will concentrate on movement for the stage, incorporating jazz, modern, hip hop styles and more.  No prior dance experience necessary.

Students should proper dance attire or active wear.  Please bring a water bottle.

Playwriting for Youth with Marina Altschiller

February 24 – March 31
Rep North | Fridays, 5:30pm – 6:15pm | Ages 8-14| $120
Everyone has a story to tell. Using acting, writing, and theatre games, students will learn to develop characters and stories in a fun and supportive environment.
Students should bring a pencil to write with!
