Youth Classes

Summer Session!

We have a huge array of exciting youth theatre and dance classes this summer!  Classes are held in the afternoons and on Saturday mornings, so even if you’re taking part in a camp this summer, you can still participate.  Please email Seraphina@seacoastrep.org for more info on any of our classes.

Babes On Stage with Miles Burns

June 25th – August 6th 2016 (Skips July 2nd)
Seacoast Rep | Saturdays 9:30am – 10:15am | Ages 4-6
It’s never to early to begin a career under the lights. Babes on Stage is for our youngest aspiring performers! Young performers will explore acting, movement, singing, creative drama, and self expression while having fun and making friends in a supportive environment.

The Acting Bug (Ages 7-9)

July 9th – August 13th 2016 
Rep North | Saturdays, 10:30am – 11:30am | Ages 7-9
Acting Bug students work to develop a sense of self, a working knowledge of theatre and terminology, as well as essential acting skills. Young performers will learn to work with scene partners, to work as a team in an ensemble, and to come together to make a production happen.

The Acting Bug (Ages 10-12)

July 9th – August 13th 2016 
Rep North | Saturdays, 11:45am – 12:45pm | Ages 10-12

PAPA Improv with Kevin Mahaney

June 27th-August 8th 2016 (Skips July 4th)
Rep North | Mondays 4:15pm – 5:00pm | Ages 8-12
Explore the basics of improvisation with emphasis on listening, instinct, and storytelling, while building and working as an ensemble. Students learn through props, music, and games. A fun time for young improvisers of all levels!

Kids Dance! (Ages 5-7) with Adele Jones

June 27th-August 8th 2016 (Skips July 4th)
Rep North | Mondays, 5:00pm – 5:45pm | Ages 5-7
Kids Dance is for the young aspiring dancer! Students ages 5-7 will learn the basics of ballet (which is the foundation for all dance) as well as explore rhythm with tap dance. The first 30 minutes will be designated to ballet- learning positions, technique, and movement. The last 15 minutes will concentrate on tapping those toes!

Musical Theatre Styles Dance for Teens with Alden Caple

Rep North | Tuesdays, 4:30pm – 5:30pm | Ages 13-18
Musical Theatre Styles with Alden is a high energy dance class. Each week students will learn a production dance number from a musical. No prior dance experience necessary, but students should have a good sense of movement and a love for musical theatre!
*You may either sign up for all 6 weeks or pay a $15 drop in rate per class.

Beginner Tap for Teens/Adults with Seraphina Caligiure

Rep North | Wednesdays, 5:30pm – 6:15pm | Ages 13+
Beginner Tap for Teens/Adults will concentrate on learning the basics of tap dance. We will learn techniques, warm ups, move across the floor, and learn well known dances. No prior dance experience necessary, but students should have a good sense of movement and rhythm. *Students should wear comfortable clothes they can move it.
*Tap shoes are required for this class. (Tap shoes can be ordered online at Discount Dance Supply)

Playwriting for Youth with Marina Altschiller

June 30th – August 4th 2016
Rep North | Thursdays, 4:15pm – 5:15pm | Ages 9-15
Everyone has a story to tell, and we’ll teach your young playwright how to tell it for the stage. Using acting, writing, and theatre games, students will learn to develop characters and stories in a fun and supportive environment.

Teen PAPA’pella with Marina Altschiller

June 30th – August 4th 2016
Rep North | Thursdays, 5:15-6:15 | Ages 13-18
Grab your pitch pipes and warm up your vocal chords because PAPA’pella is back. Singers 13-18 will learn to be a part of an acappella group while jamming to musical hits ranging from rock, to musical theatre, to the most soulful of ballads.

Beginner Ballet for Ages 8-12 with Adele Jones

Rep North | Fridays 5:00pm – 5:45pm | Ages 8-12
Beginner Ballet for Ages 8-12 will concentrate on learning the core techniques of dance, while building strength and learning dance terminology and vocabulary. Great for the aspiring dancer! (Students should wear appropriate dance attire- leotard, tights, ballet shoes)

Voice Studio with Rachel Pantazis

We are very excited to announce that we are now offering Voice Lessons with the lovely and very talented Rachel Pantazis!

Our voice studio will be open Mondays 10am – 4pm beginning July 11.  Vocal coaching will be offered in 30 minute sessions.  To sign up you must register for a minimum of 5 lessons.  Lessons will take place right at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre at 125 Bow St.  If your student is taking part in one of our Day Camps, they will be able to transition back and forth from camp to lesson during the day!
Rachel Pantazis

Rachel Pantazis

Rachel Pantazis is a graduate of Plymouth State University and a voice teacher at the Seacoast Academy of Music in North Hampton. She started her singing career on the seacoast as a young musical theatre enthusiast at Prescott Park and quickly transitioned to classical training. She has performed in musical theatre, traveling choruses, and operettas.  Rachel was chosen as the 2014 summer Education Department intern under Brendan Shea at the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University where she assisted in the design of the Finding Neverland study guide and helped in the marketing of the theater’s first ever sensory friendly performance of The Light Princess. Rachel is a freelance blogger on all things Broadway for All Tickets Inc., a freelance social media consultant, and is the current Drama Director for Goffstown High School.
