As Time Goes By - A New Comedy

November 2nd – 12th

Our first offering of our new Homegrown series is a new comedy by G. Matthew Gaskell. It asks the question – what would happen if you crossed Leave it to Beaver with Back to the Future?

An average American home – circa the early 1960’s. It is the home of Micky and Sylvia Peabody and their average American family. Micky is hard at work fixing his brand new Magnavox series 575 color TV. Sylvia is in the kitchen making a special family dinner. Their son Sherman is upstairs with his new best friend preparing a science project for the school fair and daughter Susie is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Tommy Brady, the love of her life. They are caught in a time loop, doomed to repeat the same 15 minutes over and over again.

It’s Leave it to Beaver meets Back to the Future straight out of the head of the Seacoasts funniest playwright. G. Matthew Gaskell is responsible for last year’s surprise hit Background Check, and the locally classic Sharp Dressed Men trilogy of plays.

Our own king of comedy Jamie Bradley will be taking the new script for a spin as director with a team of the funniest pros on the Seacoast.

You definitely don’t want to miss As Time Goes By.

Seacoast Rep’s Homegrown Series was created to give opportunities to local playwrights and performers by giving new works a professionally produced first or second performance.

Showtimes are Thursdays at 7pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Enjoy a drink in our lobby bar before the show. Doors typically open to our lobby an hour before the performance, and doors to the theatre open half an hour before the performance.
