With the success of our new logo, website and brochure (not to mention back-to-back hits with A Christmas Story and 8 Track—The Sounds of the ‘70’s) the Rep is faced with a common misconception:

“It sure looks like you’re doing well; you must have plenty of cash; you don’t need my contribution.”

One of the things a non-profit organization must do well in order not only to survive, but to thrive is to leverage assets. Our brochure and website are high-end pieces—luckily, the Rep has developed a diverse Board of Trustees with multiple resources and abilities. The design and printing of our materials were deeply discounted due to these contributions.

As a non-profit professional theatre, we seek to generate 60-65% of our revenue from ticket sales. If we were to charge what it actually costs to produce our shows, ticket prices would have to increase substantially—and our mission is to keep professional theatre accessible to the widest audience possible.

Noodle around our website and you’ll discover the vast array of programming the Rep offers our seacoast community:  Shakespeare in the schools, classes and camps for all ages and Senior Moments—a unique program utilizing the talent and energy of our “third age” artists. None of these programs could exist on fees alone; rather, we rely on “the kindness of strangers (and friends)” to support our mutual investment in our community.

I hope you will make a gift at whatever level is meaningful to you; and know that your support makes a difference in the quality of life in the seacoast community.
